Lord Colin Moynihan

Colin served the UK Minister for Energy in both the Major and Thatcher governments. He was responsible for Renewable Energy Policy and chaired the UK Renewable Energy Advisory Group; responsible for successfully introducing the first competitive market for the development of a private sector led renewable energy industry in the UK.  The first President of the British Wind Energy Association, he was a pioneer in wind energy in both the public & private sectors. Prior to this, he was a Minister in the Department of Environment responsible for water privatisation and inter alia for waste management.

He was a Founder Member of the World Watch Institute Europe and a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs Energy and Environment Programme Steering Committee. He has been a member of the board of Aquantis (ocean current power) and Ecomerit (transformational sustainable technologies) and in 2005, listed Clipper Windpower on the London market in his capacity as Executive Chairman of the European business.

He remains an active member of the House of Lords concentrating on sports policy, energy & the environment.
